eVOTZ is planning for several research collaboration projects to be carried out by leading university teams throughout Europe and the United States. This research will focus on mobile voting benefits for various audiences and initiatives, which will include:
- Assisting and empowering people with disabilities in the U.S.
- Applying Galileo and EGNOS global navigation system technologies for "official" government voting and secure polling applications.
This research is expected to provide a wide range of worldwide benefits for state-of-the-art e-democracy solutions.
University of Calgary's Position, Location And Navigation Group
As highlighted in the international expansion section, eVOTZ is being advised by the University of Calgary's Position, Location and Navigation (PLAN) Group. PLAN is dedicated to the research, development and improvement of wireless positioning and navigation technologies.
Professor Gérard Lachapelle leads the PLAN Group with his colleague, Professor M. Elizabeth Cannon. eVOTZ will explore and develop innovative next-generation mobile solutions through this collaboration.
